Queen Elisabeth Competition で日本人が作曲部門で優勝に輝きましたが，ここでは75年目を迎えたViolin 部門について，最初のCandidates の段階からから日本人を追いますと．

ということで，日本人参加者６人中，Semi-Final に進んだのは　Tatsuki Narita　だけだったということになります．
他のアジア勢はすごい勢いだったようですが，日本の相対的地位は低下しているというべきなのでしょう．

Andrey Baranov has won the 2012 violin competition

It was 75 years ago that the Eugene Ysaye Competition, the predecessor of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, first saw the light of day in Brussels.

One of the ways we are celebrating this anniversary is by the release of a magnificent set of 8 great violin concertos, performed by 8 laureates who have marked the history of the Competition. Handsomely presented as a CD-book, with texts, photographs, and reminiscences by laureates, the set contains live recordings made between 1967 and 2005, which were painstakingly remastered in 2011 in order to ensure optimal sound quality for today’s listeners. Andrey Baranov has won the 2012 violin competition. Tatsuki Narita is second laureate, Hyun Su Shin is third laureate. Fourth laureate is Esther Yoo, fifth laureate Yu-Chien Tseng and sixth laureate Artiom Shishkov.

The six unranked laureates, in alphabetical order : Ermir Abeshi, Marc Bouchkov, Nikki Chooi, Dami Kim, Josef Spacek and Nancy Zhou.
